Rick Shea is a fine songwriter and guitar player from California. He’s had a rich and varied career that included a seven year stint with Dave Alvin. I had the pleasure of playing a gig with Rick recently.

Working with various Roots/Country-Rock band line-ups from his West Yorkshire base since the late 70s, Des Horsfall has had, in his own words “a few skirmishes with fame”. In the mid 80s he fronted Blues-Rock band Raw Deal that was managed by Alexis Korner, and in the 1990s Des was to be seen in hit videos on CMT and as opening act for Joe Ely, Steve Earle,Emmylou Harris,Chuck Prophet and many others.
After a decade of studio engineering and production work at his own analogue recording facility (Valve Studios), Des has ‘reemerged’ with a brand new ‘Rustic Rock n Roll’ outfit ‘Des Horsfall’s KUSCHTY RYE’ and critically acclaimed (Ronnie Lane/Slim Chance inspired) album‘The Good Gentleman’s Tonic’, which is to be the first of a trilogy.
He is currently undertaking acoustic shows with various guests and working on a fascinating follow up to TGGT……. ‘The Bastard’s Tin’.

On these shows there will be a selection of songs from each songwriter
e.g. Des & Dan or Des& Tim interspersed with Ronnie songs.

Bardentreffen feature by Andreas Jordan
Des’s long time friend Pete Mayhew assembled a fantastic band of musicians to play Bardentreffen Ansbach.
Des was so pleased with how the band ‘gelled’; and worked together; he has invited them to be what is essentially a German KUSCHTY RYE.
The line-up will undertake future German and European tours , the first of which is being organised for Spring/Summer 2013.
